Faith seeking understanding
The Theological Commission exists to serve the intellectual and spiritual life of the International Congregational Fellowship. It brings together scholars, ministers, and lay people who share a commitment to thoughtful engagement with the Christian faith as understood within the Congregational tradition.
What the Commission offers
The Commission provides resources and guidance on matters of faith and practice, helping member churches and individuals to reflect deeply on scripture, theology, and the challenges of contemporary Christian witness. Its work includes:
- Theological papers and study resources for churches and individuals
- Guidance on doctrinal and ethical questions arising within the Fellowship
- Opportunities for theological dialogue across the ICF's regions
- Support for the Fellowship's conferences and youth programmes
The Commission draws on the rich heritage of Congregational thought while remaining open to fresh insights from across the worldwide church. It is one of the ways the ICF nurtures a faith that is both rooted and responsive.
